The Twitter bird strikes again! And this time it seems to be taunting all those women laughing alone eating salad, or in this case, patrons who have just left Once Upon a Tart in Soho on Sullivan Street north of Prince Street, where this bird was spotted out front situated in a tree. It joins the bird seen this summer on Mott Street.

Fans needn’t despair: Kim is not really dead but she WILL quit social networks starting December 1 as part of the Digital Life Sacrifice campaign. An impressive number of celebrities have announced their desire to be part of the aforementioned campaign, which will see them cease all activity on all social networks (most notably Twitter and Facebook) for a good cause.

Infographic of the Day: A joint team of researchers from Northeastern and Harvard have compiled a nifty visualization reflecting the ever-changing mood of Americans by state over the course of a given day based on the tweets they send out.
Not only did they analyze the sentiments we collectively expressed in 300 million tweets over three years against a scholarly word list; these researchers also mashed up that data with information from the U.S. Census Bureau, the Google Maps API and more. What they ended up with was a fascinating visualization showing the pulse of our nation, our very moods as they fluctuate over time.
