Early Bird Special: The unsolicited commercial directors who brought you the best Skittles ad ever made follow it up with an equally uncommissioned, you-can’t-do-that-on-television Reese’s Pieces spot.

LOVE these guys.
Back to the Start
The film, by film-maker Johnny Kelly, depicts the life of a farmer as he slowly turns his family farm into an industrial animal factory before seeing the errors of his ways and opting for a more sustainable future. Both the film and the soundtrack were commissioned by Chipotle to emphasize the importance of developing a sustainable food system.

This makes me happy. I know it’s a TV commercial for a fast food chain that I don’t even like, but this was on TV. It got people talking and thinking. Years ago this never would have seen the light of day, and now millions of people saw this. You can tell me the world is doomed and that we’re terrible and all that jazz, but there is just as much good in this world and it is slowly overturning the bad. People want to be happy, to do the right thing, and as we shift towards a society that takes responsibility for the specifics of how we get our food, clothes, etc. the happier mankind will become. A deep, true happiness.
So fuck your negativity bitches.
Afternoon music/Super Bowl commercials: OK Go “Needing/Getting”
That OK Go Chevy commercial/music video thing from the Super Cup or whatever.
I thought I’d be tired of OkGo’s shenanigans but this video had me smiling. And I really dig the song too.
Battle Beasts were uhh THE shit. Rock-paper-scissors x 1000 coolness factor.
Seriously, one of my favorite toys as a kid. And the best part was that everyone I knew had a few they loved and since there were 84 of them we could have our own little teams. Mine was an ape, a spider, a cat with a rocket launcher, a rhino with a mace hand, and a crab-thing.
DIY Doritos Ad of the Day: Though Jack Dreesen, John Ramsey and David Ward’s homemade Doritos ad didn’t win the chip brand’s annual direct-your-own-Super-Bowl-spot competition, it still won.
How is that possible? Just watch.

Awesome.
I eat a lot of candy. I know how this goes.
Lights Out: Commercial and music video directing duo Cousins don’t beat around the bush in their latest project: A rather colorful ad spot for Skittles.
